Hi does this prove goverments theory that flavorings are added to intice young smokers? is that why they banning flavored cigerettes? I never heard of flavored other than menthol. Until taxes started going crazy and looked for cheaper cigs for wife. duh Lee

Hi --

I remember this topic from way back when! And now government has banned all flavored tobacco except menthol which the FDA is working on banning without law to support it. This is a classic case of governent making a law that seems reasonable on the surface, but then when it's implemented by the regulators, has wide implications. Ok, it doesn't even seem reasonable on the surface, but you get my point.

I've already said I expect soon that the FDA will require all tobacco to have a substance that tastes really bad in it to encourage us to stop smoking. Maybe something that makes you vomit 5 minutes after you light up would work.

Hey! Why am I giving them more ideas on how to wreck my enjoyment!

I'm kind of strange, I like tobacco flavored tobacco, coffee flavored coffee and steaks that taste just like a seared slab of dead cow!
I know, I know...you'll never eat beef again.

most i ever did to flavor my tobacco was to get it very dry an crispy, an put a tea ball full of brown sugar very damp an packed in, inside a plastic ziplock back for a week out in the sun. actualy couldnt taste it but it smelled good .. LOL

by 2nd grade i was already having coffee with breakfast after doing the barn chores
3rd grade driving the truck while helping plant fenceposts
the old man would tell me to grab him a smoke from the truck since he had no shirt on to keep them in, and i would light the thing for him...
course you have to take a dragn to get it to light decent, and then he wondered why i ended up swiping some shortly after that?
then i started getting my own so he wouldnt notice his going too fast, got the same brand (camel straights) in case mom found MY pack she would just think they were pops...
I SWORE I WOULD QUIT WHEN/IF THEY HIT $.50 A PACK!!
so why am i worried about growing my own when they are over $5.00 a pack?

Hi
I started with every other boy on east sidde of town. small town and east side was rough part. Had to go with crowd . :roll:

Wife says she started from the ads for Salems Menthol. first time she bought a carton. took 6 months to smoke all them. Never smoked a menthol again. lol. She wants them to taste like tobacco. smoked camel regular for years. :roll:
